Free hugs will be given to Centro Plaza shoppers on Tuesday as part of Mental Health Week.
Ewan Grant from radio 5SE, Ray DeWitt from the Pioneers and WIN TV’s Sharni McLean will all be at the centre from noon to give away free hugs, promoting the importance of what a hug means - especially to those who do not have anyone to hug.
Balloons and lollies will be given to children and a colouring-in event around the theme of what a hug means to a child, will also be held.
Beyond Blue information bags and information on Anxiety Disorders Association South East (ADASE) workshops in the area, will be distributed to shoppers.
ADASE’s “A Great Step Forward” program to support people suffering anxiety disorders and to help educate their carers, will be held at the Mount Gambier Hospital conference rooms at 7pm on Tuesday.
The program includes an initial information session, a one-day basic program and a more in depth 10-week program.
For bookings contact ADASE on 8723 9400.
