My interpretation of what seemed to me to be a poorly worded announcement…
100 mice and 4 doses of NNZ-2591 - x, 2x, 4x, 8x – were tested over 6 weeks.
At the end of the 6 weeks all the mice were assessed on 8 behavioural deficits associated with Phelan McDermid syndrome.
It was found that the (genetically engineered) Phelan McDermid mice which received the two higher doses (4x and 8x) of NNZ-2591 could no longer be distinguished, in a statistically significant way, from the normal mice.
An excellent finding.
