I think what CPG means is china is switching from IO to genetically modified bamboo.
They have grown a steel like bamboo that will be used to build skyscrapers.
Anyone who has been to China has seen the "solid" bamboo scaffolding used during construction so its not much of a jump to use a cheaper , locally organically grown material to feed their industrial growth.
