There is no need to panic about loss of income incurred from any early learning centre closing.
if a centre faced forced closure, children, could only be transferred to another centre, if that centre had vacancies and the licensed numbers, in those centre's was not being exceeded.
If a closure for fourteen days was to occur, families would simply get a doctors certificate for the ten days and those days would be deducted from their total '42 days allowable absenses'. The CCS would still be paid to the provider (G8).
As as the majority of G8 centre's are in regional areas the parents are possibly in the higher subsidy bracket.
There is one main provider of insurance for early learning centre's and currently they are advising clients that they are not covering centre's for parents contributions towards fees, if there is a closure from coronavirus. If a centre closed for two weeks and the parent fee contribution was as high as 60% it really is not going to have a significant effect on income.
