USGovCo Military fuel use is 12.6 million Gallons of fuel/day. Multiply by 4 for litres (in round figures)
Airlines, Ships, Trains and others cannot just "stop" and convert to EV - it will take decades to convert if storage becomes possible.
Small mines I have worked at use Mine dump trucks that are diesel-electric, a small fleet consuming 30,000 litres/day (trucks only)
Larger mines consuming 200,000 litres/day. Check out Diesel electric loco fuel consumption. Already converted, and yet they still tow diesel tankers for longer trips...
Fuel need and national fuel security is here for decades to come, (even if "out of this world" energy storage is developed.)
Check out USA exporting oil trends from the last few years for a more pausible explanation of over supply v reducing demand.
