    Foreign ownership of any Australian carrier that wishes to fly the Trans Pacific route is
    restricted to 49%. Given that Virgin Group owns 24% of VBA, Singapore Airlines could only
    purchase 25% of VBA without jeopardising VBA’s entry on the Trans Pacific route.
