    we must be looking at the same old geological map of c. 1900

    looking directly west of Waverly (over the hill) there is "Dyke 6" which is almost certainly auriferous because Perkin's Creek running thereabouts from Dyke 6 shows hundreds of alluvial workings (the red dots)

    where did the alluvial gold come from? most likely the quartz was eroded by water flowing through dyke 6 (notice also that dyke 6 has a continuation further north)

    good chance IMO that Dyke 6 is highly auriferous
