At least you know you've bought into a solid company, not an iffy spec like CVI ---take a look at the misery on that thread where many hopefuls have done their money.
I must admit BHP's intra-day behaviour has been erratic, and it was being sold down to within 5 cents off $30 20 minutes before the close.
It powered up to close pretty much at its high, dragging the all ords up with it.
The SP rejected the day's low under $30 very quickly.
