Regarding the question of underground mining versus open cut approaches, does the fact that it is Lithium being mined here make any difference? I recall reading that spod tends to weather and break down if exposed to rain and the elements if a surface deposit? But maybe this takes lots of time? If an open spod pit got flooded (as happens in central Australia) would this be a terribly bad event for LTR using an open cut?
