Youre welcome :) I think the GoldMoney stake is a very interesting strategic move for DRD. I would think that their long term vision is to move from being a gold producer towards becoming a bank and issuing their own gold backed private currency while the fiat world collapses in a mess of 'flation (in- or de- who knows - probably both). That is still a few years down the track I feel but reading through the durbans.com website I get the feeling that this is what the directors envision. I can also imagine a time will come when DRD will be paying dividends in gold backed credits. Why would they distribute profits in the form of fiat when they are producing the real money themselves.

Down the track I can imagine banks taking over or merging with gold producers for the same reasons. When people en masse start to realise that gold is indeed money the banks will have to get in.
