My thoughts on CBA purchasing a US Bank is a big NO.
Why do I say this?
1. Other Aust banks have not succeeded, why should CBA?
2. There are opportunities in Aust (BankWest and SunCorp) where CBA know the business and the regulatory environment and the economy and the regions.
3. Just because something is cheap does not make it a good investment. Centro properties and ABC Learning and B&B are cheap, but they may not be good investments.
