With close to 200,000 cases globally and 8000 deaths, (800 of those just today),
That appears no biggie in the scheme of things, but what percentage is 200,000 of 7.8 billion? answer: It's an infinitesimal one!
Could this get 10 times worse? yes!
Could this get 100 times worse? yes!
Could this get 1000 times worse? yes easily!
Could this get 100,000 times worse? yes of course it could!
Once this is embedded in the entire world population we are then talking monumental impact to health systems, complete collapse of already stagnated economic supply chains potentially rolling into social unrest with the poor breaking windows to get what they desperately need, with the smash and grab mentality becoming its own contagion as the LA riots once taught us.
It may soon become obvious that we were better to carry on as normal without total lock down in panic mode destroying the social and economic fabric of society but dealing with this from our previous position of strength.
However this current mode leaves an increasing number both vulnerable and desperate, an unfortunate mix!
The virus was the pin that pricked the bubble and as such is a game changer of mega proportions, the helicopter money is one massively dillitionary aspect but personal safety and survival could be another matter altogether.
Its game on now and the causal theories tossed lightly about only weeks ago suddenly get very real indeed.
