Dan Norcini at http://www.jsmineset.com/cwsimages/Miscfiles/6630_October0708Gold1230pmCDT.pdf mentions that in a press release today the US Mint has announced they will no longer be producing 1/2 ounce and 1/4 ounce American Gold Eagles until (at least) the rest of the year. They have run out of the gold blanks from which the coins are struck.
