If one of the big banks goes under, the ramifications for AUD and NZD will be so far reaching that the fabric of the concept of money will be broken. If one bank goes the others will topple so quickly it will be ridiculous. That said, the SP could tank even more, until the government guarantee scheme is satisfactorilly outlined and implemented to bring confidence back into the banking system.
I dont think anyone knows and can speculate with certainty where this is going to end.
