I'm not sure I share the pessimism being exhibited here.
Acadia is perfectly capable of taking the phase 3 trial though to its conclusion whether it proceeds down the current time-line or is to be adjusted as most expect.
The risk to NEU of Acadia not being able to fulfill its partnering obligations is virtually nil.
For those of us who've waited over 10 years to get to this point, an extra 6-9 months (if required) is nothing more being asked to take a detour on a highway because of an accident and arriving later than planned.
