Which commodities are you talking about? Metals and such are declining, but last time I looked, beef (and cattle) and other food stuffs were definitely on the way UP.
There was a doco on TV a month ago where restauranteurs in Aus were complaining about the cost of high quality beef, so much of it was going overseas.
