The current testing protocol is apparently that if you have ‘cold’ symptoms you don’t get tested unless you have been in contact with someone from overseas or someone known to have been infected.
The main conclusions the authorities seem to be stating is that most infections come from people who have come from overseas or those who have been in contact with them.
This seems to raise questions as to the extent to which the conclusions are the result of the protocol.
The ‘new’ 15 min tests have been claimed to be 97% accurate after 5 days of infection - ie after the antibodies have formed.
It might be valuable if those with symptoms who are not currently being tested, perhaps everyone who has had ‘cold’ symptoms in the last couple of months, are tested using the ‘new’ method 5 or more days after noticing the symptoms and the results reported to the authorities.
Presumably the best way might be through pharmacies.
That way also the current testing/protocols won’t be clogged up.
