Hi Slice, perhaps my words appeared to be biased but I can assure you I am not..

My concern is simply that these very simple 'agreements' or 'contracts' if you like, underpin our society.. From an investment point of view, they need clarity .. Either it is an agreement or it is not

In terms of risk, I am a risk taker, I like risk, I like to think outside the square but I also honour my obligations.. nothing more nothing less

Owning anything is a risk, agreed, but signing a tenancy agreement is also a form of ownership, you 'own' the obligation to pay the rent.. There are consequences for not doing so..

The Landlord 'owns' the obligation to provide that property, free of interference, in good working order, without increasing the price and without changing the property from the state it was originally in.. This means that they can no longer 'use' their property in the way they may otherwise like to (ie as a place to store their belongings, grow tomatoes etc etc).. Again there are consequences for not complying
