Admittedly, I've never really made any serious money from trading (irrationality gets the better of me).

As someone that had gone through the very depth of the GFC, one lesson learnt is that as long as the price paid for stock is not outrageous and the the company in question survives, the business will grow bigger with time and the share price reflects this.

Some companies that I follow had excellent balance sheet prior to COVID 19, through no fault of their own, trade receivables likely marked down to zero, and forced to go to 'investors' for cash at really depressed share prices. Ordinary shareholders will be completely decimated, as these 'investors' are likely to be big shots like private equity, vulture funds who really only cares for their short term return.
