As you know I agree entirely with the sentiments in your second last paragraph.
I heard one broker on the floor of the NYSE say on Friday (in a news report) "George Bush should just keep his mouth shut". If the financial expert commentators are also the financial expert practitioners, then they have to say the sky isn't falling, otherwise it would be tantamount to "not taking the 5th" and incriminating themselves.
If there is a bottom soon that may hopefully mean it will never be time to 'bend over and kiss your arse goodbye'.
