That's fine and prudent, but if you wish to hedge your exposure to the USD price of gold go and arrange hedging for yourself.
But if I invest in a gold producing company, I do not want to be betting on how clever their CFO is at running their gold price and currency hedges. I can understand a gold miner having to take on hedging to keep its banks happy but I cannot understand a gold miner doing so to keep its shareholders happy.
