My guess is that the CPRS will be delayed until after the next election and be a pretty lame scheme until there is a concerted international effort.
Faced with a potential substantial discolouration of their green fringe the govt will have to provide climate friendly funding incentives. Infrastructure spending will also play an important role fighting the impacts of the slowed economy.
So schemes like this will, if shown to be economically and technically viable, tick many boxes - ie strategic infrastucture, greenhouse, job creation and no doubt more!
On top of that, Origin just made a 1.5 billion exchange rate gain on the coal seam methane deal with conoco!
A proof of concept circulation test will really put this project on the map!
