Hold on. Doesn’t this need FIRB approval? Surely this is the type of protection Treasurer Frydenburg was offering Australian companies from overseas predators/carpetbaggers. This mob low balled around 14 months ago and lost and I hope they lose again. Due to their met coal assets this should be considered an essential Australian asset particularly in the post COVID greater self reliance world we should be considering. I think this mob is Indonesian not Chinese. Maybe the Winfield group who placed a bid might be enticed back. I will check with the FIRB today. I’m not selling at this price.
