Anyone with a job right now is considered essential. Therefore, to allow these people to do their jobs, particularly ESS employees, they are being given additional help to continue their great work in keeping you safe and society safe. Plus, as the supermarkets seek extra staff many new workers require child care, and they are being given that assistance.
Someone here is trying to allege that this decision is based on a Cabinet Minister's minor investment in child care centres. That's nasty and bigoted isn't it Dave, and I'm sure you will regret making such an allegation especially if you care to name him.
If you think child care assistance for essential workers is not worthy of government spending then hand back you handouts you are all gleefully taking, especially the DSP shirkers.
