yes it is crazy. The Libs brought on one touch payroll for a reason . Now is the perfect time for this to be used. The ATO knows how much everyone earns per fortnight. I have some staff that I stood down that work 1,2 or 3 days a week. It's their only job as they are uni students. The ATO knows how much they earn a fortnight and we could pay them that amount no problem. But if this gets passed they will get a massive pay rise for not working. You know how hard it is to keep morale high when LT employees know people are getting paid $1500 for not working? I'm very happy that people that have lost their jobs can stay on my books and when things turn around they can start work again. The best i could offer the staff currently working is a day off, working 4 day week instead of 5 to even out the fairness in this. (as we are all pretty quiet looking for stuff to do). But man, if they used their heads, we could half the payouts and extend it longer if that situation was to come about.
