I absolutely don’t believe 5G will ever be a challenge to the core functionality required for edge computing. It would be ludicrous to prioritise its use where local processing would be more practical in terms of reliability and security of use. These are separate mutually exclusive use cases imo. Why would we ever want to rely on connectivity when and where we don’t have to, it would not make sense and would doom the systems involved to be fragility and failure.
