Yes Rykster, I've spent time in the Philippines, unfortunately.
And yes, they would be a lot better off if their political leaders did not have the history they do, and unfortunately it's a sad indictment on the society.

The place is a seething mess of current and historical corruption.
Since 1987, every president has been charged with Corruption (and worse), and of course, before 1987 we had Marcos - say no more !
