There are some very clever medical people who understand only too well that under current restrictions all we are doing is putting off the inevitable. The chances of an effective vaccine within a reasonable time frame are extremely low.
A second round of handouts will bankrupt our nation. The results will be far worse than any virus. Rampant organised crime, the like we have never seen. People so poor and desperate that they will do virtually anything, anything for money for the basics. It will be far too late to reverse the situation. As the WA Police Commissioner said on 60 Minutes, 'we are very aware that the people will only accept so much and we need to keep careful watch so that we don't over do it'. A very smart guy compared to his counterparts on the other side of the country.
How many times do we want to repeat this exercise before we accept that the virus MUST move through the population? Albeit at a controlled rate.
