I have enjoyed this thread...enough of the hysteria found elsewhere, let's look to the future. I have some cash.

In reference to JH..he was buying into HVN between the 4.00 - 3.40 levels, and said that he was shaken to see the sp continue to decline (interview on Lateline a few months back). HVN closed today at $ 2.54.

JH saw value in his own company, or was trying to prop up the share price....it really has nothing to do with the subject of WB. Needless to say, the it is all about the time line of your investment horizon.

If you analyse JH's result's today, it's been a dud for him....how about in 10 years? Is HVN a good business model? Is it well run? Do they stand out in a good light against their cometitors? I'd have to answer yes to all the above.

Is a good investment determined on looking at the day-to-day price fluctuations? That's trading, not investing. WB is an investor, not a trader. It is immaterial to him if he buys at the bottom of the market; he has always stated that he will buy something at "fair value" and good management.

WB sees more than fair value in the current market. If you are interested in wealth creation, you have to look at where you want to be positioned in 5 to 10 years time. Don't get sidetracked on daily price movements....that's all about trading profits, a completely different game.

This really is a great opportunity to set up a portfolio for the future. It is very difficult not to be rattled by the past month.....so much cutting and pasting of the end of the world.....stay calm, and look at the opportunities. Don't chase the market, let it come to you....

HC posts are skewed to short term trades
