Hey llori, Just one other thing to keep in mind,remember markets move in cycles and i personally refer to bear and bull markets as sewing and reaping seasons. The right time to buy a stock is when it's significantly undervalued by the market, this gives you the investor an opportunity to buy and hold long term providing you can keep your cool as the next bull market might be just around the corner..

The environment we're currently experiencing represents value in a lot of companies.Cer has pritty much bottomed out with very little downside risk in their sp..In other words you are buying pritty much on it's all time lows.. but their are a lot of companies due to profit downgrades and slowing of the global economy will see their sp move down in further.When prices started to get out of hand in late July 2007 as i was sort of laughing because when i was telling professional fund managers about a possible bear market and that stocks were pritty much over priced they were laughing at me back in mid 2007 as i only found 1 or 2 companies undervalued fitting my intrinsic valuation model everything else over priced... Now the market has pritty much done the opposite.From one extreme to another.

Timing and picking the bottom is virtually impossible; but u can see the signs when bear markets start to bottom...Look for distressed sellers just wanting to exit and look for really irrational behaviour where investors base selling descisions on fear.Remember A bull market is just that!!!>>"Full of Bull I.E.. B.S" and a bear market cycle is when share prices of good companies start to look silly i.e. massive dumping with all stocks; then one might assume that the bear market is nearly in it's last phaze in the cycle.
