As an aside, I'm told that one reason we are not taken seriously is the side effect issues of these types of drugs. The 200mg poster results from the first BIT009 trial paper showed that 200mg is quite tolerable. Apparently, and it's just someone's opinion, HMA has a bad rap amongst medicos. My thinking is that one could easily put up with a few side effects if it can save the lives of critically ill patients. For heaven's sake, nothing could be much worse than the twelve months I spent on Int/Rib. Even the DAAs, like Sofosbuvir and Daclatasivr are said to be almost side effect free but I can tell you they are not. But I'm happily cured of HepC!
