Nationally recognised brand doesn't mean jack when the business is in decline. You only have to see the operations being closed or spun off to get a feel for it. Given I've had a closer look up and close I can assure you comparing programmatic advertising to radios and newspapers, magazines etc. you might as well compare it to anything with some form of advertising. Perhaps domain, car sales? Seek? Mcdonalds does advertising too... throw that in there.
