I can’t see how any in the Party Room either for or against Scott Morrison can vote for a package to VAH. IMHO the Scott Morrison aligned folk, those that are left, are mainly trying to save Josh and Simon Birmingham from being dumped under the new Leader, and they can hardly be seen to supporting VAH, Sir Richard Branson, Singapore, Etihad and HNA Group.

The new leader’s people be they Dutton or Bragg or Sharma supporters, people like Cormann and Cash, they can’t be seen to be propping up foreign interests at the expense of the taxpayer, especially if their call to arms and leadership challenge is for end to lockdown and get the economy going on again, especially as none of them have yet called for a Parliamentary payout.

The Nats want to support John Sharp and REX and they want VAH to go to the wall, especially those close to John Sharp.

I cannot see how either side of the LNP can reasonably vote for a VAH anything, be it a loan or a guarantee or anything. Everyone else from your oil and gas company to your TAB to your steelworks will want a multi million dollar subsidy to. And the Federal LNP have said they don’t want protection.

So VAH goes to the wall or finds another domestic sholder. Cannot see the Federal LNP Government giving more than they have already.
