That’s not my definition of getting smashed. Small volumes is no real concern. Is it?
The more I research into the other natural graphite producers, the more I see the potential here. A solid ‘bankable offtake’ not a ’soft’ version, like others have is all that's required. The lucky geology of the Siviour deposit creates a better than average chance of this happening. Also, having the ability to downstream ‘in-country’ that you are producing product is clearly an economic advantage — being in a safe jurisdiction is also a lucky bonus!
Generally any industrial material that is abundant in supply and can be produced cheaply has a big future. Battery engineers need to work with what is practical and readily available. For instance, cobalt is problematic because it is a supply risk and is the only component that can’t be recycled cheaply. This means that substitutes become a focus of research. So I’d rather be in a natural graphite stock than a cobalt one.
