The sale of assets is not good at all, unless, like I said before desperation drive them to do so.

Any asset worth their weight in gold is definitely worth keeping and without a doubt would be capable to raise a loan against it. Apparently they cannot do so and sell something instead.

There was a company once upon a time that used to get something going and prove something was worth keeping and the sell it. It kept on going while the Executives and Directors were getting good money AND BONUSES for their trouble without the shareholders getting anything.

Guess what and where that company is today.
