So, the last few trading sessions has had this weird action at open and closing auction. The other day somebody dumped over a million shares at a price about 20c below last close and caused the open to be very low. The SP recovered almost immediately so I calculate they lost over $200K doing that.
And this afternoon, again, massive dump in the closing auction of over 10Million shares at a ridiculously low price that thankfully got mostly mopped up. But again. Why would you do that? You could have much more easily offloaded the shares through the day at a far higher price. The only explanation is a deliberate attempt to push the price down in the eyes of anyone who doesn't examine the trades closely.
This is one of the issues with TA, by the way. They come along a week later and just look at the curve and draw conclusions from that without considering the underlying causes because they don;t examine what trades did what. Here's the sell bid they made. 10M at $4.22? Pretty blatant!
