Investing $10 to get $5 back is pretty stupid... It's better for AFGHA holders if the coupon is deferred but Allco survives, than if the coupon is paid but Allco folds. (Since a fire sale of assets likely won't be enough to cover the senior debt.)
The banks don't care about the share or note holders - if they reckon they can get most of their money back by winding up the company and selling everything regardless, they'll do that.
