Those end-of-day sales may have been Van Eck's GDX 4/17 rebalancing. 4 stocks were added to tGDX (Silver Lake, Equinox, Teranga, and Gold Road), and 1 stock was removed (New Gold). To make room for the new additions, the existing 47 stocks, including EVN, were sold down slightly.
