Concur BH - his Black Swan event is a 9/11 senario - but your right - this was evident as the housing bubble hit ; only unpredictability is how far down and for how long and no one has that answer.
Mr Taleb wouldn't be using this crisis as an extension of his thoughts from either book - the turkey and 9/11 are where he plys his trades and thoughts
