No *** - just your one eyed perception

Definition of eradicate: the complete destruction of something. (if it still exists somewhere thats not the "complete" destruction of it in my books - thats why I have always had the distinction virus free vs eradication)

I have always said this was about buying time and NOT eradicating the virus though if they want to define eradication a month without cases then ok eradication - though I suspect we will constantly be entering and exiting eradication based on that definition with external sources of infection. The key was always building up the health system to handle a higher load and allot of experience on treating the virus from the death bed trials will be valuable going forward.

IMHO a vaccine will ultimately fail - they may find one that works (how safe given the accelerated timeframe who knows????) BUT then there is the fact that the virus mutates so any vaccine will likely not work for all strains - so ultimately we will have to live with it like the flu and all of its strains.
