I agree, people want to see evidence of tangible performance, whether is meeting production targets, sales targets, securing finance, reducing costs, maintaining margins etc all of which in their own way contribute to profitability and dividends. These things are only evident periodically (quarterly/six monthly) and within the current environemnt of fear people dont't seem to be able to see beyond the current day let alone anticipate what will happen over the next thre months which also contributes to the volatility we have seen and the inclination to take smaller tradig profits rather than lpotentially larger profits over a slightly longer term.
