I did not read that report from Orocobre as a comparison between brine and hard rock but as a general overview noting (according to my understanding) ;

1) currently downstream customers in the US and Europe appear more affected by Covid19 impact than the refiners - no matter where they are located and no matter whether they produce brine or spod. *
(Current oil prices have also created a potential impact.)

2)* This is evident because many car manufacturers and other lithium users have reduced production or temporarily shut down

3)Orecobre thinks the impact may last from three to six months from the end of March

4) As a result of this many processors (who, as @Egeria noted the other day, are also feeling the pain) are taking a ‘wait and see approach’

5) There are a lot of people and companies pinning hopes on new stimulus packages from China.
