This announcement does not make any sense to me.
If an Australian company wants to finance this project, would that also be contrary to the national interest of "growing Australia's critical minerals sector"? After all, the project is not in Australia.
How naive the Australian government has to be to believe that this could really stop the project? I mean, if the project is economic, this could only delay it a little bit. If the project is not economic, there is also no need to deny it anyway.
If EV is the future, there are huge market for lithium. Australia government should not be so mean. After all, if this project is to succeed, it's better to have an Australian company behind right?
I really hope this could be sorted out soon. Although for investment I don't like AVZ's uncertainties (No need to attack me. It's only personal preference), I do hope AVZ to succeed.
Good luck!
