Imho, the prices will continue to fluctuate .The shorting push down valuation. Then they buy up a lot of stocks on a dip for a long. Not small time shorting but by the big guns with plenty of cash. Then the smaller ones will be spooked and let go. Buy-sell patterns can emerge.
I trail behind and watch the volumes. Then decide if I am buying at that price to hold the stocks for long.Fascinatingly, it does not really work on some mining stocks where the investors are holding on for long term. Any dip will result in some of the 'regulars' accumulating stock.
