From the announcement
“The Company understands the Federal Government believed AVZ’s forecast production of 87,500 tonnes per annum of lithium carbonate equivalent from operations planned to commence in 2022 (based on it producing 700,000 tonnes of spodumene concentrate (SC6)) was contrary to the national interest of “growing Australia’s critical minerals sector”.
So in this context, yes it is my opinion the Aus Govt have kicked an own goal in attempting to disrupt the progress of the Manono project by rejecting Yibins investment in AVZ.
AVZ have put it on the record.
Anyone who thinks they have not been accurate in the announcement can always take it further themselves.
The Treasurer is on record from a media request for comment as not willing to comment. Take that as you may.
