    Sorry to hear that.

However the saying 'it is only money' rarely makes any sense to someone who has been wiped out financially.

It is interpreted as an insurmountable personal failure.

People who have lost all their assets sometimes see no way of recovering and a dramatically altered life laid out before them.
Most see no point in reaching out as it is their personal crisis and there is not one thing anyone else can do about it.

So it comes down to a choice, and all options are weighed up.

It is a flawed society where this is the logical thought process. But with no cash you have no future.
That is the nature of our system.

Thehe banks have set a deflationary collapse in motion, and there is a long way to go yet, so I expect many more are currently debating this same choice: a life of misery and bondage, or death.

If you know someone under duress, you can try to reason with them, but it will likely not have a significant impact.

ASIC should rip into the hedge funds/institutions that are deliberately creating volatility, and ban short selling.

With some market stability alternative options might emerge for those who feel under the gun.
