i have just done a review of a large number of dummy portfolios from 4years to 6months,some are tracking at almost
their 4year start value, they disregard dividends,it is with rare exception almost a time warp,a good many are heavily in the red, they are all hold only portfolios.

the best performer is showing a simple 89% return,it has been some bull run congratulations to those who converted to cash last year, the bears are certainly destructive.

many retirees must be mortified, wondering what the next month or months might bring, but it does seem to be plateauing.

if i had my time over i would stick with something boring like afg, djw, arg in fact a buy and hold plan even in these depressed circumstances in for eg. afg would have you in
    positive territory with drp.

it gives you a certain reassurance, trading is fine its the sitting in this period that damaged my account extensively,
a fund seems to offer better protection from shorting, charts dont show sly motive, anyway shorting might become the domain of only a few ,it has its place, just not the place we have borne witness too
