Since it takes 4 months to fabricate these chips, then you can imagine that it would likely take 1 year to bring a fab up to speed. You also have to form a contractual agreement with the fab to produce the chips within a spec and at a cost etc. You might spend 3 months or more doing that.

Pretty sure it doesn't take 4 months to produce a wafer - have you got a source for that info? I can't find any info on production capacity. Agree with you regarding mobile phones not being first, I believe the company has said as much with respect to them needing to prove supply capability (with redundancy) to the major phone manufacturers before they place orders.
