I wonder where the money will come from
The project was originally dreamt up to supply energy to Indonesia via cable.
Usually what happens is customers are lined up, agreeing to purchase the future output at an agreed price which underpins the investment.
You might see some Indonesian sourced funds.
It seems that due to advances in wind turbine technology they can now instal bigger and better turbines and have sufficient planned output to also supply the Pilbara region.
Presumably the output would complement existing diesel and gas powered generators allowing expansion of mining in the region.
So mine developers might also help undeprin the investment here rather than build more of their own generation.
