    Buying gold by the Feds doesn't serve any purpose besides a psychological one for the tiny section of investors in US that hoard gold. Buying commercial or Govt paper is what drives liquidity even if it mirage the appearance of a recovery. CMBS is where the current problem may arise but with a US$500B market, it isn't such a big thing anymore when you see Trillions are chuck into the system!
